10th Annual New Year\’s Eve Beach Ball Drop!

2018 is almost here, but not before the annual Beach Ball drops in Pier Park!

If you haven’t experienced this really unique and fun way to party during New Year\’s Eve, we suggest you come out and usher in 2018 in a way that will have you celebrating the beach life!

Pier Park will play host to the official New Year\’s Beach Ball drop, with ten thousand beach balls set to drop onto the crowds. Before the massive ball drop, you\’ll get to experience live music, fireworks and a family-friendly party.

There will also be a luminescent 800 pound LED beach ball that will drop at the stroke of midnight. This year marks the 10th celebration.

It will be a great family-friendly celebration as the streets of Pier Park are closed off to traffic. For young revelers, there\’s even an 8 p.m. countdown, followed by fireworks. Officials say if you plan to attend the Beach Ball Drop this year, be sure to get there early to allow plenty of time to park. As for the expected crowds? It’s gone from 7,500 in 2009 to over 40,000 for 2017.
