Five Water Activities to Experience While on the Beach

The pristine emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico give everyone plenty to see and do and chances are, you’re going to want to experience much of what it has to offer. Here now to help, is a list of five of the best water activities you should try during your next visit to the beach!

 

  1. Snorkeling at St. Andrews State Park and Shell Island

One of Panama City Beach’s truest gems is St. Andrews State Park. If underwater exploring is your thing, you can’t pass up this opportunity to explore the many reefs and bustling activity within this area of the gulf. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll want to do it again! The jetties at Shell Island are a beautiful area to take pictures for your family and friends. Shell Island is the only place in Panama City Beach to view natural sand dunes. All snorkel gear is provided and bottled water is included. Up to 6 people per boat, and a tour guide is included!

 

  1. Parasailing

Take a Parasail ride and really see the World\’s Most Beautiful Beaches! Experience a whole new level of adventure, as you peacefully glide alongside the sea gulls over the sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico. You can choose to be dipped and dangle your feet in the emerald green waters (or not be dipped).

 

  1. Banana Boat Rides

Zoom across the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico on an inflatable banana boat ride! These big yellow floats are pulled by Jet Skis! Ride for an afternoon of cooling off, or for sightseeing near the shore. Dolphins, sea turtles, fish, and other harmless wildlife are common sights to see – if you\’re not too busy laughing and enjoying the ride. A Banana boat ride is an inexpensive must when visiting Panama City beach! The banana boat accommodates up to 6 passengers per trip, and group rates are available.

 

  1. Pontoon Boat Rentals

Never piloted a pontoon boat before? Don\’t worry, the crew at Adventures at Sea welcomes beginners. Adventures At Sea has the largest fleet of pontoon boat rentals on the Emerald Coast. The 24\’ boats are clean, safe and reliable, and can accommodate up to 12 passengers. Each vessel is equipped with U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets for all passengers, and are available in a range of sizes from toddler to adult. All boats are equipped with a Bimini sun top, swim ladder, and anchor. There is enough storage area to bring along beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, fishing equipment, and sand pails for the kids.

Are you the adventurous type? Pilot your own Wave-runner, and follow a tour guide as he guides you through a 25 mile adventure covering the waters of Grand Lagoon, St. Andrew\’s Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Each wave runner can accommodate one or two people. Or, enjoy viewing the dolphins from the luxury of a Dolphin Tour Boat. Keep in mind, the boat tour is more accommodating to groups with younger children.
